Account & data deletion

How to delete a RetailIQ account and the data attached to it — what is removed, what we must keep, and how long each takes.

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Who can delete what

RetailIQ accounts are created by the business you work for, so there are two routes. Both end in the same place.

Deletion routes
You areRouteTime
A user of a company's RetailIQ Ask that company's RetailIQ administrator, or email us and we will pass it on Removed from sign-in immediately; erased within 30 days
An administrator User management → select the person → deactivate, then request erasure Immediate deactivation; erasure within 30 days
A customer closing the whole account Email us from a registered admin address Export provided, then full erasure within 30 days

Requesting deletion

  1. Email support@gobazo.com from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. Tell us the company name if you know it.
  2. We verify you. We confirm the request genuinely comes from the account holder or an authorised administrator — this is what stops someone else deleting your data.
  3. We confirm scope. Just your user account, or an entire company instance. For a whole instance we offer an export first, because deletion cannot be undone.
  4. We delete and confirm in writing, within 30 days and usually within a few working days.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email address, mobile number and profile.
  • Your sign-in credential, in our systems and in Amazon Cognito.
  • Your role, permissions, team and store assignments.
  • Your notification preferences and any pending invitations.
  • Your personal saved views, pinned items and chat sessions.
  • On a full account closure, the customer's business data in that instance.

What we keep, and why

A short, specific list — we keep the minimum the law and basic security practice require:

  • Security and audit records (that an action happened, and when) for up to 12 months. Where possible your identity is replaced with an anonymous reference so the record survives without the personal data.
  • Invoices and financial records for as long as tax and company law requires.
  • Suppression list — if an address bounced or complained we keep it on a do-not-send list. This exists so we do not email you again, and asking for deletion does not remove it.
  • Encrypted backups for up to 90 days, after which they expire. We do not restore deleted data from backup except to recover from a disaster; if that happens, the deletion is reapplied.
  • Work you contributed — tasks, purchase orders and comments belong to the business and remain in its records. Your name is removed or replaced where doing so does not destroy the record's meaning.

Data held by the business you work for

When a retailer runs RetailIQ under their own contract, they decide what happens to data inside their instance, and for on-premise deployments the data sits on their own servers. We will always pass your request to them and support them in answering it, but we cannot delete their records on our own initiative. If they are unreachable, tell us and we will help you find the right contact.

Stopping email without deleting the account

If the goal is just to stop the mail, you do not need to delete anything. Turn off alerts and summaries per person in the app under Notification settings, or email support@gobazo.com and we will suppress the address. Invitations and password resets only ever arrive in response to a specific action.
